Art Haus Lucas

On the evening of December 12th, Lucas residents Nancy Fisch and Rebecca Lacey, co-owners of Art Haus Studio, welcomed residents from the community into their home-turned-studio for an evening of artistic exploration.

Nancy, a former elementary school teacher, and Rebecca, a former art teacher, are more than just business partners – they’re neighbors, too. Living just four houses apart, the duo turned Nancy’s second floor into a vibrant creative space, transforming a simple idea into a thriving creative space.

What began primarily as after-school and summer art sessions has quickly evolved into a year-round schedule of classes. “Our after-school classes are truly mixed media. We’ve explored everything from weaving, textiles, oil pastels, chalk, acrylic painting, sculpture, and cement casting to hydro dipping, leather jewelry, printmaking, paper marbling, and paper clay—along with all the classic art techniques,” Rebecca shared.

On this particular evening, attendees experimented with alcohol ink painting, a mesmerizing technique where colorful, acid-free ink is manipulated using unconventional tools—such as a simple straw—to create striking abstract compositions.

Art Haus Studio continues to expand its creative horizons, recently adding two new classes—ceramics and adult watercolor—both set to launch in February.
